HELP TO BUY BOILERS

GRANTS FOR DOMESTIC USES
DECC’s Low Carbon Buildings Programme householder stream is due to be open until late 2010 for heat generating technologies, or as long as funds last. This funding will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Grants are available for wood fuelled boiler systems, with an overall maximum of £1,500 or 30% of the relevant eligible costs, whichever is the lower.

In order to be eligible for the Low Carbon Buildings Programme grant the chosen equipment must be on their approved list, proving that it meets European standards for efficiency and safety (EN303-5). In addition, the installation must be done by, or under subcontract for, an approved installer under the scheme and energy efficiency measures need to be in place.

GRANTS FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR AND CHARITIES
Grants are available for installations of up to a maximum of 300kW heat. Qualifying organisations can apply for 50% of the project cost of installing microgeneration technologies. Products and installers must be selected from the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS). Organisations can apply for a maximum of up to £200,000 in grant funds per site. A site may include more than one building and multiple applications from one organisation for different sites will be considered.

The Carbon Trust offer 0% interest loans of between £3,000 and £500,000 for energy savings measures. Qualifying for an Energy Efficiency Loan depends upon the amount of energy you will save on site following completion of the proposed project. Therefore if your energy saving project features biomass technology and meets the onsite cost and energy saving criteria, it will qualify.
